Being a Christian is a basic requirement for being a member of Gold Rush Quartet. All members attend church in their own area.
Tyler McCord joined Gold Rush Quartet in 2008. He is married, attends college and finds time to play the drums for Gold Rush Quartet. The group is very blessed to have such a talented young man who is committed to this Southern Gospel Ministry.
Charles Prause, native Houstonian, sings the lead in the Quartet. He joined the group in 1980 as bass guitarist and moved to singing the baritone part in 1981. In 1984, Charles began singing the lead and continues to fill that position. In addition to the Quartet, Charles is Music Minister in local churches, including his own church, Garden Oaks Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
Ray Suffron sings baritone with the group. He joined in January, 2018 after the retirement of David Rose. He has sung in a Barbershop Quartet and teaches Sunday School in League City, where he lives.
The bass singer, Dale Weiman and his wife live in Coldspring, Texas and began singing with the group in 1977, and just gets better and better as the years go by! It has been said that he is the best Gospel bass singer in this part of Texas!
Jeff Embrey joined Gold Rush Quartet as drummer in August, 1999 and now sings tenor. When the former pianist/tenor singer of 27 years had to leave the group in early 2007, Jeff stepped up and began singing the tenor part. He & his wife live in Pasadena, Texas, where he actively participates in his church and is also band director for a local public school.
The pianist for the group, Bob Johnson, who lives in Houston, Texas, joined the Gold Rush Quartet in 2006 as their sound man and then became the pianist in early 2007. He has been associated with and playing Gospel music since he was 14 years old.
